Furthermore, other factors of a person’s lifestyle, such as obesity and having a job that regularly requires heavy lifting can damage the heels of the feet and lead to serious pain.

Because of its various causes, the intensity of chronic heel pain can range from mild to severe. Plantar fasciitis is the most common cause of heel pain. This condition develops when the plantar fascia ligament becomes inflamed due to forceful pulling of the ligament from where it attaches to the heel bone, resulting in tears in the tissue. The plantar fascia ligament that runs the length of the foot could become irritated when too much stress is put on it. Factors that contribute to stress include unsupportive shoes, excessive running or other exercise, or sudden change in weight, such as during pregnancy where too much weight is suddenly placed on the ligament.
